Conformation
Fiji’s show career was fast and impressive. He finished his UKC Championship in just two weekends and his Grand in 2.5 at 11 months old. By 15 months, he had earned his Emerald Grand Champion title and was working toward his Ruby before being altered (he is still currently working towards his gemstones in the altered ring). Along the way, he collected Best of Breeds, group placements, a Reserve Best in Show with IABCA, and a Reserve Grand class win at Premier Nationals 2024, where he also made the cut in Total Dog groups.
Although Fiji is now altered, he’s still actively showing in the Altered classes, and loving every moment of it! He continues to shine in the ring with the same confidence and presence he had in his intact career. We’re excited to keep cheering him on and will continue updating his accomplishments as he enjoys this next chapter of his show journey.
Fiji is an entertaining dog to be around. He’s kinda goofy and always makes you smile, but he’s also super chill. He’s not lazy, but let’s just say he’s not winning any marathons either. A walk on the beach? Sure, he loves that. Learning something new? He’ll give it a try. But mostly, he’s happy to just hang out and take life at an easy pace.
The best part about Fiji is how low-maintenance he is. He’s super independent. He doesn’t have to be in your face all the time or demand attention. He’s fine just doing his own thing and being near you.
He gets along with people and other dogs, stays pretty neutral around kids, and is great at adjusting to new places. When it’s time to relax, he’s already there… Fiji’s off-switch is top-notch.
In the ring, Fiji is what we call a push-button dog. He’s straightforward, cooperative, and makes things simple for his handler. He doesn’t overdo it, but he’s easy going and consistent, which makes him fun to show
Overall, Fiji’s just simple in the best way. He’s happy to be part of the adventure, but just as happy to lounge around and let the world go by. He kind of just slides right into your life like he’s always been there, and that’s what makes him awesome.
Performance
Fiji is honestly such an amazing dog! He can do just about anything you throw at him! He’s earned 19 titles and 10 Total Dog Awards, which still blows my mind every time I say it. Four of those awards were even regional qualifications for TDI, which is a huge deal!
Fiji competes in so many different sports it’s almost hard to keep track. He participates in weight pull, nose work, and Barn Hunt, and he’s extremely focused when he’s working. But then he’ll turn around and crush it in rally obedience or one of the coursing sports like dash, steeplechase, or CAT!. He’s also started training in dock diving and agility, and it’s so fun watching him figure out new challenges and get better every single time.
Fiji has placed in several of the sports he competes in, proving he’s not just versatile but truly talented. From rally and weight pull to coursing and nose work, he consistently stands out for his focus and drive, no matter what the event is.
No matter what sport we’re doing, Fiji always gives it a go. He’s super smart and loves to work, but he also knows how to have fun with it! He’s the kind of dog that just makes you smile the whole time. Whether he’s pulling weight, sniffing out scents, or flying over jumps, Fiji proves every single time why poodles make such incredible working dogs.
